My Next Plane Ride

Riding an airplane is one of the most exciting parts of human life. I think most of us wanted to know how it feels like. We think of this like we are going to ride in a theme park ride. Some people who have not ridden an airplane prefer to ride it not only because of the time that will be saved for the trip, but also because they want to experience flight.
The invention of airplane is one of the most important breakthroughs in human history. Thanks to the Wright brothers who never stopped believing that humans could fly. Now we a lot of different types of airplanes and I have a dream that someday I am able to ride all of them. Actually if I am able to join this field trip and seminars, it is my fourth time to ride an airplane; not counting going back here of course. My first airplane ride was when I was second year high school. We went to Manila to compete on a street dancing competition. We have a really low budget for that event because we have only few sponsors but I also have thought that our manager and organizer are corrupting the money given to us. Because of that we have thought that we might just ride a ship because they have said that ticket for ships cost less the plane tickets. But I realized that even though we will save money when we will ride on a ship, we will still spend for the food because it takes three days to go from Davao to Manila. It will be a big budget because we are fifty plus all in all and a three day meal for fifty plus people will cost high. So I think it is not possible for us to travel by ship and it is a good news for me because I might not enjoy that ride, I had really bad motion sickness problem. So I asked our organizer on what are we going to ride to go to Manila, then he said we might ride a C-130. Are you familiar with that plane? If you have watched the movie “Olympus Has Fallen”, the C-130 plane was he one who engaged the first attack on the white house and shooting the civilians nearby. Yes, we might ride an army plane to go to Manila because it is free and huge enough to carry our props with us. But in spite of the fact that we will ride a plane that was also used to carry dead soldiers from war, I am still excited because that vehicle is flying and that what matters most (LOL). So one week before our trip to Manila, we are practiced hard and we even practice at night. We have to win that competition to give honor in our city. After that practice we usually gather to have a little meeting. We talk about the improvements and some updates for the incoming activity and that night, there was also good news. Our organizer said that our mayor Rodrigo Duterte sponsored our flight to Manila. We were all cheering because all of us have not ridden an airplane before. At last, we could ride a real commercial airplane. I felt so happy when they gave us our plane ticket. Just like a child that has received a new toy. They have also said that since we were too many, we will not fit all in just one plane so we were divided into two groups. I am so happy that most of my friends are with me. So the day came that we were going to ride an airplane. I am up early in the morning because our flight was six o’clock so we have to be in the airport at four o’clock. I am usually lazy in the morning but not that time; my excitement pushed that laziness away. When we were on the airport, I and my friends can’t wait to check out the plane. It was also our first time to enter an airport. The security system of the airport was really tight and I was not prepared for that. I was wearing a jacket, belt and shoes which is very inconvenient for me because I have to take it off every time we are going to be checked. It is really hassling for me. As I enter the “waiting shed” as I call it, we were lurking around and tried to use the restrooms. That time I also discovered that the airport’s toilets are automatically flushing. That was really cool. After a long time of waiting on the “waiting shed” we were finally going inside of a plane. As were walking on that tube that connects the terminal and the plane, I and my friends were taking pictures and having a plan that we should change seats very often so that all of us could experience sitting beside the window. I think most of first timers wanted that. Enjoying the view from up above. The second time that I have rode a plane hen I was an SK official in our barangay. There was an activity in Baguio city which is called the YES Camp. It was a one week seminar to teach us how to take care of our environment which I think that this is just a way of the government to get money. Because when you analyze it, that seminar was totally useless because first, 95% of the participants would not apply what they have learned, and second, what they were teaching is available and could be found easily on the internet. In fact we were just there for fun (LOL). And after two years there was another YES Camp activity so we went there just to enjoy ourselves again using the government’s money. That was really awesome.
I am telling you all of this because the excitement of an airplane ride is just for the first time. And when you are inside of a plane, (beware this is a spoiler alert) you will just enjoy for thirty seconds and you’ll decide to sleep for the rest of the flight. It is just like riding a taxi except you will not experience traffic and the air pressure keeps on bugging your ears. What am I going to expect this next plane ride is to see my excited classmates and watching their reactions after thirty seconds.
